In this sermon Pastor Conaway teaches that God has raised us up in this generation to shine as lights in the world. In every generation, God's people have had to deal with challenges. With the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday looming, Pastor Conaway shared how we must rise to the occasion to address the challenges in our community today like others, including those who led the Civil Rights struggle, addressed the challenges of their day.

Apostle Paul exhorted the Church at Philippi to "Do all things without complaining and disputing, ¹⁵ that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain."

We shine as lights in the crooked and perverse generation of our day when we operate as the children of God by allowing the fruit of the Spirit to manifests through us.
