The Apostle Peter states in 1 Peter 2:25, "You were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls", and in John 10:11, Jesus said, "I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep." In both places "shepherd" is used as a metaphor to help us understand some characteristics of our Lord and Savior when it comes to how He leads, guides, provides, and protects us. In this sermon, Pastor Conaway teaches how God provides everything you need for life when you submit to God; seek His kingdom and His righteousness. God has a responsibility to take care of you, but you must work with Him and within the guidelines He has established.
