Fellowship Bible Church Christian Education Resources

Christian Education is key to the development and discipleship of believers. We are a ministry of the Word of God, thus we focus on developing the whole person through the Word. The Christian education of our youth is as important as that of our adults.

Proverbs 22:6 instructs us to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." This lets us know how important training our children in God's Word is. It is important to help them in their spiritual walk when they are young and their minds forming.

At Fellowship, we have several opportunities for spiritual growth through Christian education: Sunday Morning Bible Classes, Sunday morning Message by Pastor Conaway, and Tuesday Bible Study at 7pm. Come join us!

Back to School Tips for Parents

Min. Madeline Conaway

It's that time of year again!  Academic year 2020-2021 will be a lot different because of COVID19, but there are some things we can do to help our children get off to a great start.

    1.  If your child is learning virtually for this first 9 weeks, set up a schedule for them including when they will get up in the morning, breakfast time, learning time, lunch, etc. Try to keep them on target as much as possible. If you are working, and they are home alone, give them guidelines. Go over each one with them verbally. Write them down and post on the refrigerator or close to their study table.  Hold them accountable for doing their work.

    2.  If you have more than one student at home, separate them so that they can each focus on their work, but where you can help all of them also.

    3. Encourage them!! This is important because it can be frustrating trying to sit behind a computer and learn when they are used to interacting with a teacher and peers in a classroom setting.

    4.  Give yourself and them a healthy dose of patience. If you don't have all the answers, seek help.  There are a lot of tutorials on You Tube. Reach out to other parents whose children are doing the same lessons. Your child's school teacher should be able to communicate with you also. You are not alone!

    5. Finally, and most important, pray with your children daily. Read a scripture or two together. It will be encouragement and strength for your entire family.
